First trailer for animated Hush movie wants Batman to be very, very quiet

Our first look at Warner Bros. Animation’s adaptation of Batman: Hush is here, featuring the voice talents of Jason O’Mara (Agents of SHIELD), Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time), and Maury Sterling (Homeland) as Batman, Catwoman, and the eponymous villain, Hush.

The new direct-to-home-video film is based on the DC Comics’ 12-issue “Hush” storyline, written by Jeoph Loeb and drawn by Jim Lee, which functioned somewhat like a murder mystery. All of Batman’s rogues were suddenly popping out of the woodwork with one big scheme or another, all seemingly coordinated to throw Batman off balance. At the same time, a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne — the brain surgeon Tommy Elliot — meandered back into his life.

By its end, Loeb and Lee’s story had touched pretty much every part of the Batman mythos, good guys and bad guys, and it seems we can expect the same sort of coverage from Warner Bros. Animation’s version. Rounding out the cast of the movie are Jerry O’Connell (Sliders) as Superman, Rebecca Romijn (X-Men) as Lois Lane, Rain Wilson (The Office) as Lex Luthor, Sean Maher (Firefly) as Nightwing, Vanessa Williams (Desperate Housewives) as Amanda Waller, Jason Spisak (Young Justice) as the Joker, and Peyton List (Gotham) as Poison Ivy.

Batman: Hush will hit Blu-ray shelves and streaming services in “late summer” 2019.
