3D-printed nerve stem cells could help patch up spinal cord injuries

While the device hasn’t actually been tested in patients yet, or even animal models, lab tests have shown that the neurons do grow along the channels of the silicone guide, and are active. While a full recovery, where patients can fully walk again, might be too much of a moonshot at this stage, the researchers say the treatment could help patients regain other important functions.
