Bone custom-grown on sheep's ribs used to fix their jaws

Each of the sheep in the study had four "bioreactors" implanted on its ribs

When someone is missing bone in their face due to injury or illness, the current treatment involves transplanting a piece of bone extracted from the leg, leaving a deficit there. Now, however, scientists have succeeded in growing extra bone within sheep's bodies, that's preformed to the shape required.

Knaus Boxlife camper van sleeps seven and still loads up with bikes and gear

The Boxlife 630 ME's optional lower bed creates a four-sleeper rear cargo area

Camper vans usually sleep two to four people on a combination of rear bed and optional pop-up roof bed. Occasionally we see a van that can sleep five or six. The latest Boxlife from Germany's Knaus goes a step further, sleeping up to seven people on four available lift-away and stow-away beds. That's impressive enough, but the van's variable, multifunctional furniture also allows campers to clear out the load area to pack in bikes, boards and other gear for the trip. All in all, it's an outdoor adventure powerhouse.

Dangling tape could be used to de-orbit old satellites

According to NASA, there are over 500,000 pieces of space debris currently orbiting our planet

In order to at least begin addressing the growing problem of space debris, numerous groups are now looking into methods of de-orbiting satellites once their operational lives have ended. One of the latest approaches involves getting the spacecraft to dispense a long strip of sunlight-catching tape, instead of using their own propellant.
